Digitized Sky Survey GIF image (15 x 15 arcmin) Discovery InformationIt was detected by the PIXY system as one of the candidates of new variable stars from images taken by Ken-ichi Kadota, Ageo City, Saitama, Japan, then confirmed by Seiichi Yoshida. V1002 Sgr is 3.2 arcmin from this object. V1002 Sgr was detected as about 12.5 mag. So MisV0542 is another variable star. Special NotesStefan Huemmerich and Klaus Bernhard revealed that it is a Mira type variable with a period of 265.3 days, brightness range of 11.8-16.1 mag(Rc), using the MACHO project data (light curve, phase diagram).
