Usage of Sloan Digital Sky Survey / SkyServer / Explore ToolOpen the following page. Sloan Digital Sky Survey / SkyServer / Explore Tool First of all, click "Click here to Explore!".
Then the Sky Server Explore Tool page will be displayed. For example, let's investigate about an object at R.A. 00h15m58.4, Decl. -00o18'15". This object is a galaxy named NGC 60 = PGC 1058.

Then a small dialog will be displayed, so input the required parameters.

Push the "OK" button, and the information, data, images, spectrums, etc., of this object will be displayed.

After the information of this object is displayed, select "NED search" in the left side menus.

Then the further detailed information will be displayed.

After the information of this object is displayed, find "PhotoObj" in the left side menus, and select "Navigate".

Then the image will be displayed.

Click your mouce on the image. Then the R.A. and Decl., type and magnitudes in five bands (u', g', r', i', z') of an object at the clicked position will be displayed.
After the information of this object is displayed, select "Virtual Sky" in the left side menus.

Choose "Galaxy" from the "Clicking on sky will:" items and click your mouse on the image. Then the NED database is searched and the further detailed information of a galaxy at the clicked position will be displayed.
Choose "Star" from the "Clicking on sky will:" items and click your mouse on the image. Then the SIMBAD database is searched and the further detailed information of a star at the clicked position will be displayed.
