Matching of peculiar images

Here I show you the experimental results with peculiar images, on which a non-stellar object spreads out widely. The images below are also compressed half both vertically and horizontally.

A comet occupies fair part of each image. Especially stars on the image of Comet Hyakutake are trailed because the comet moved fast during the exposure and the photographer traced the motion. Despite of these irregularity, the PIXY system could match properly.

It is hard to match such images with charts without software support, because comets do not exist on charts as a matter of course. When stars are trailed, it becomes much harder. Therefore it is a great merit to match automatically with a software.
