Best time and the azimuth, altitude (A,h) are at lat. 35 deg in the Northern Hemisphere.

* 2P/Encke


It was between 8 and 10 mag visually in early November. Very large and diffused. In the Northern Hemisphere, the condition is excellent. It locates high in the evening sky at 7 mag in mid November. In the Southern Hemisphere, it is only observable until mid November.

It is expected to be 1 mag in the southern sky in 2004 spring. Brightening as expected.

* C/2001 Q4 ( NEAT )


It will reach to 1 mag in 2004 spring. In the Southern Hemisphere, it keeps observable in good condition until that time. On the other hand, in the Northern Hemisphere, it is not observable until that time. It is a bit fainter than the ephemeris, 11 mag recently.

It reaches to 8 mag in 2004 spring, however, the condition is bad. In the Northern Hemisphere, it locates very low sky in the evening in November and December. Then, it appears at dawn in May. But the altitude is so low as around 10 deg until September. In the Southern Hemisphere, although the condition is good now, it will be observable only until the end of 2003, when it becomes 10 mag.

It is observable around 11 mag in good condition. After December, it will fade out gradually while getting lower in the evening sky.

Recovered after 25-year blank. It became extremely bright in outburst and reached to 12 mag in early October. Although now it is extremely diffused, it was still bright as 12.5 mag in late October.
